About
Christina Litt Belch (she/her) is a contemporary dance artist, composer, choreographer, musician, teacher, and arts administrator based in Toronto. She has trained at various renowned dance schools in Canada and the United States, such as Alberta Ballet School, Dance Arts Institute (formerly known as The School of Toronto Dance Theatre), and studied piano under Arlene Wright. She has also attended intensive programs at English National Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School NYC, and the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. Christina recently completed an Honours BFA in Dance at York University and an Arts Administration Internship with the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC).
She is a collaborator with companies such as Pulga Dance, hART dance, and Kaeja d’Dance. Christina has worked as a composer/performer for dance:made in canada - inTO focus, Battery Dance Festival, SQx Dance, Expect Theatre’s Beats + Intentions, and Dust and Soul Dance Projects, and performed as a dancer in the SummerWorks Performance Festival. As an emerging choreographer, she has presented her work at the Festival de Danse Contemporaine de Sherbrooke, Hamilton Fringe Festival, and has been a rehearsal director for Pulga Muchochoma.
Christina is the creator of Litt Dance Collective, which aims to meld musical and choreographic research in a holistic way. As an arts educator, she teaches piano lessons and is the ballet/creative movement instructor at the Citadel Dance Program. Through her passion for community dance, Christina also teaches seniors at Dancing with Parkinson’s. She is known for her positivity and zest for life and strives to focus on mind and body wellness in all her practices, while exploring the connectivity of music, movement, and language, and their impact on one another.
